Welcome to a relaxing Samatha meditation.

Shamatha meditation—mindfulness or concentration— stems from the Buddhist practice. Shamatha means “peaceful abiding” or “tranquility.” Also called mindfulness or concentration meditation, shamatha is an important introductory practice that leads to the practice of vipashyana, or insight meditation.

The purpose of shamatha meditation is to stabilize the mind by cultivating a steady awareness of the object of meditation. The traditional practice of shamatha uses different kinds of supports or anchors for practice. Eventually, this leads to practicing without supports and meditating on emptiness itself in an open awareness. For this particular practice, the instructions will be for shamatha meditation using the breath as the focus of our practice.

Resting your breath on the bodily sensations and on the senses. Being fully aware of the body breathing on its own can bring you calmness and peace of mind. Using mindfulness to develop self sensitivity. Letting go of negativity and expectations. You will hopefully be able to enjoy the silence at the end and let go of the internal fight.

The whole new world of perception will eventually open up and you will be able to enjoy the experience. By increasing the perception and sensibility of the senses, you can live the present moment as it is, free from any kind of filter. Clementine will invite you to re discover your smell, taste, sight and hearing. She will talk about how the perception of the senses affect your energy in the everyday life and how to manage it.

In this class Clementine will use tools like: mindfulness, sensory experiences, pranayama, concentration, visualization and the mantra Om at the end to finish the practice.
