Loving Kindness
Yoga teacher Synnøve wholeheartedly invites you to an evening of self- compassion, in a safe and sacred space.
She believes that this is the ultimate medicine towards dealing with grief, lack of sleep, fear of the unknown, or a restless mind. Humans tend to blame themselves into how life unfolds, and this manifest into the subconcious mind. According to tibetan buddhism, this is the root cause for suffering, and the antidote is metta, which is the Pali word for loving kindness.
The tibetan buddhist monk Pema Chodron writes "Things falling apart is a kind of testing and also a kind of healing. We think that the point is to pass the test or to overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart again. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.”
If we dare to sit with whatever is, it can become less frightening. If we nurture ourselves, no matter how hard things are, the pain will not be able to hide and manifest itself in the shadows of the subconcious mind.
This is the essence of self- compassion.
Tara Brach has wrote the book Radical Compassion where she teaches about the meditation RAIN. RAIN is the akronym for Rezognize, Allow, Investigate and Nurture.
Based on the teachings of Prema Chodron and Tara Brach, as well as Synnøves journey as a yoga teacher with a tantric approach, she now wants to create a safe space where we invite loving kindness to ourselves in order to heal our wounds, increase emotional well- being, regulate our nervous system, calm the mind, and hopefully create lasting positive effects in our neural pathways.
The workshop will include:
- Calming self- love yoga
- Restorative yoga nidra
- RAIN meditation
- Self- Inquiry
- Sharing in a safe space (if you want to).
