Service Description

A fusion of Yin and Restorative Yoga – perfect for recovery, rest, and deep release Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga are often seen as similar, but there are distinct differences between the two. When we combine them, we create a deeply nourishing blend of rest, recovery, and profound stretching. In this class, we make generous use of props such as straps, blankets, blocks, eye pillows, and bolsters to fully support the body. What to expect: Yin Yoga poses are held for 3–5 minutes, sometimes up to 7 for more experienced students. These poses work actively into the connective tissues. Restorative Yoga poses are held much longer—anywhere from 10–20 minutes—and focus on full support and passive release. While Yin encourages a gentle, purposeful stress on the tissue to spark transformation, Restorative Yoga invites total surrender for healing and replenishment. Is this class for me? Yin Yoga works deeply into the connective tissue and fascia, helping release physical and emotional tension. It’s especially beneficial if you're feeling stuck, stiff, overwhelmed, or in need of letting go. It enhances or maintains flexibility, supports joint health, and complements more active (yang) practices like Hatha, Vinyasa, or Ashtanga. Restorative Yoga is ideal for those recovering from illness or injury, or anyone in need of deep rest. It supports healing by calming the nervous system and providing a safe space for the body to restore itself. Together, Yin and Restorative Yoga promote inner awareness, helping you reconnect not just with your physical body, but with your emotions, thoughts, and energy. Rather than rushing from breath to breath or pose to pose, this class invites you to slow down and listen—to notice subtle shifts in your body and mind, and to rest deeply. Yin and Restorative Yoga are both powerful counterbalances to the busyness of daily life and high-intensity movement. They support the deeper dimensions of yoga—the mental, emotional, and energetic layers of the self. A class you don’t want to miss.
